Our Principal Facilitators are well-respected mining professionals with decades of experience across several commodities and mining methods.
Vaughn holds a B.Sc. Mining Engineering (Honours) from the University of Witwatersrand and an MBA from GIBS amongst other professional certificates.
He has over 30 years' experience in exploration, mining, and mining property valuations. His expertise is in Mining Engineering, Project Management, Technical Valuation, Due Diligence, CPRs and Financial Valuations.
Vaughn has global experience and his commodity exposure includes base metals, gold, uranium, platinum, coal and rare earths. Vaughn is a fellow of the South African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM), a member of other professional bodies such as Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), Association of Mine Managers South Africa (AMMSA) and the Project Management Institute (PMI).
He currently leads Sound Mining Solution (Pty) Ltd, a Johannesburg mining consultancy firm.
Gary holds a Bachelor of Technology: Mining Engineering Degree and a National Higher Diploma: Metalifferous Mining, both from The University of Johannesburg, amongst other professional certificates, with over 27 years' industry experience.
His experience is in Mining Engineering, Information Technology (Mining Technical Systems), Operational Improvement, Workflow Mapping and Re-design, Due Diligence, Project Management and Implementation.
Gary has commodity exposure in Gold, Copper, Diamonds, Platinum, Coal, Iron Ore and other Base Metals across several different mining methods.
Gary has held various positions within the Mining and Information Technology Industries and recently held the position of Principal Mining Engineering at Anglo American.
Mike is an engineer with a B.Sc. Degree in Mining Engineering at Queen's University and M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa). He is a Professional Engineer with the Engineering Council of South African and Mine Manager Certified. He is Managing Member at Envirovent Technologies (South Africa) providing technical services, diagnostics and solutions in industrial and mine ventilation.
He has 25 years' experience in Mine and Industrial Ventilation Engineering for General Mining Union Corporation (Gencor) and after 15 years as a private consultant in Mining and Industrial Ventilation. He is member of the Mine Ventilation Society of South Africa, Southern Africa Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and South African Acoustics Institute.
Paul is an Engineer with a M.Sc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa), Technicians Diploma - Mechanical at Technikon Witwatersrand and Artisan Training - Fitter and Turner at Barlows Heavy Engineering, Benoni.
He is a member of the SA Institute for Mechanical Engineers. His 40 years' career includes all facets of Heavy Fan Engineering, Combustion and related Energy Engineering.
André Stickling holds a NHD: Mine Surveying at UJ (Technikon Witwatersrand), a BMin (BBA) at CLT and a MBA at CLT (Commonwealth Open University) among other certificates in the Management, Mine Planning and Survey Field. He has over 26 years' experience in the mining industry.
His experience is in Mine Planning, Mine Surveying, Mining Technical Services and Systems, Mining Studies (from concept to feasibility), Implementation with commodity exposure in Gold, Coal and Platinum.
